Earlier this year I found an awesome deal on 2-day passes we could use to get us into a bunch of fun places around Salt Lake. I wanted to do them this summer with the kids, but have been physically in a lot of pain, especially when walking too much, which is what we would do with these passes. So, we kept putting them off and eventually figured we would use them after the baby came. Then I noticed the expiration date, September 2... Last Monday after my 38 week check I found out I was hardly progressing and got a bit depressed and decided we needed to get out and get our minds off things. I was VERY worried how I would be able to handle 2 full days of being out and about, but I was also tired of not being able to be the kind of mom I want to be. So, we decided to just go for it and get out and have some fun!
First, we went to the Olympic Park in Park City and went zip-lining and rode the Alpine Slide there. It was a lot of fun! Johnathan & Ashlyn did the zip-line and the boys and I did the slide. Jacob had his little heart set on doing the zip-line, but didn't weigh enough so he had to do the slide with me. He is still bummed about it too.
Next, we went to Sundance and rode the tram up the mountain. It was fun, but I was also pretty scared on the actual tram. Being on top of the mountain was beautiful! John was laughing at me when my 'protective mother' kicked in. If the kids got within 5 feet of an edge or slope, I was either holding their hands or telling them to back away. What can I say? I want to keep my babies safe!
To end off our first day, we stopped at the Thanksgiving Point Dinosaur Museum.

End of Summer Adventure- Day 2
The second day was the day I was most worried about. We really wanted to go to the zoo, but I knew I couldn't walk up and down all the hills and all over the zoo. Johnathan insisted that we rent a wheelchair for me to ride in. At first I told him absolutely not! Then I thought about my kids and how much they wanted to go to the zoo. I wanted to go with them too. So, I ended up swallowing my pride and allowing John to push me around in the wheelchair. By the end of us seeing the zoo, I knew I had done the right thing. We all had fun and I knew I couldn't have done all that walking. This was the first time that we saw so many very active animals. We especially loved the polar bear. I'm not sure why, but every time we go to the zoo the batteries in our camera always die. Seriously. So, we took some pics with John's phone, but we didn't get very many.
After the zoo, we used our pass to eat lunch at The Lion House. I was really excited to eat there for the first time. We got a ton of food! The passes basically gave us $50 ($10 for each pass), so everyone got lunch, drinks, and a dessert. The rolls were especially yummy!
Next we went to the Clark Planetarium. We had never been here before and were glad we went. It was a lot of fun. They have some really neat exhibits and displays. I didn't know it is free to go inside either! You just pay if you want to watch their movies (which we got to watch 2 with our passes). One movie we chose was really scary for the kids so we left, but the other was awesome.
After the Planetarium, we walked across the street to the Discovery Gateway Children's Museum. Again, the kids had lots of fun. After going to all these places, I was reminded how much I don't like crowds. I hate dealing with so many obnoxious and oblivious people. When we were done, I was very glad to be headed to my quiet(ish) house. With only my family. That I can boss around. Haha, J/K.
I'm so glad we were able to get away for a couple days and go have some fun together. We will definitely get these passes again!

Happy Birthday to me
I celebrated my birthday a couple months ago. July 14 to be exact. For my birthday, I told Johnathan what I wanted. I wanted to go on a date with him (we went out to eat with my 2 sisters at Los Hermanos and then watched a movie), I wanted to go out to lunch with one of my best friends and enjoy the 'pick me up' she always gives me, I wanted to go do some genealogy for a couple hours, and I wanted a picture with my kids. Oh, and I wanted to try a new cake recipe I found online.
These guys make being another year older a lot more fun!
YUMM-O!! John made this cake, mostly by himself too :)
To fully appreciate it, you have to see all the layers!

39 Weeks
I am 39 weeks today. I am once again reminded that babies never come on my timetable. It seems that this pregnancy has been all about 'being patient', and this ending is no different. So far, every time he has checked to see how I am progressing, I have not been making very much progress. Today was a little better news, but still not what I hoped for. At the end of our visit, he asked if I wanted to be induced (which I've been avoiding), but I'm also a bit desperate so I felt torn. John spoke up and said that I would like to be induced and the sooner the better. So, we set up a day to go in for an induction. In 2 days! I am excited, yet nervous.
My goal with this pregnancy (other than get through one day at a time) has been to not be induced. I have been induced with all the other ones and I haven't enjoyed it. I don't think I would have minded if the epidurals would have worked. I just don't want to do that again. But, I don't really have any control over that either. I have been talking with a lot of other moms and have been given some new & different suggestions to try to see if I can make progress on my own. I figure I have the best shot if I try them all on the same day, right? So, today I tried acupuncture for my first time ever. I also tried some essential oil drops and a couple other suggestions people have given me.
Hopefully something will happen soon, but if not it's nice knowing I only have 1 more full day of being pregnant. Our little baby girl will be here soon!
