Heartbeat

Today we got to hear our baby's heartbeat!  Such a wonderful sound!  It makes all the sickness seem a little less pointless.  I am 12 weeks along today, and due August 26.  These past few weeks have been super hard, but I'm so glad they are behind me now!  I've been more sick this time than I've ever been before.  It's been the LONGEST 6 weeks of my life!  But, I feel very blessed that I can have kids.  They are worth it all.

The doctor had a little model of what a 12 week old baby looks like and it's approximate size.  Jacob came with and got to hold it.  It was fun for him to see it.  I found a website that compares the baby to sizes of fruit, so I've been keeping the kids updated on the size each week.  They are so excited!

I am also starting to show.  I can no longer fit in my old pants and have to wear maternity pants, or yoga pants which I usually choose.  I am holding off on the maternity tops for as long as I can.  John is excited to see a bump.  I think it makes it more real for the kids too.

 The time has come to share some exciting news...

We took these pictures to have a fun way to announce to Grandparents that another little Allen is on it's way :)

The kids are so thrilled!  Lately they've been asking when we would have another baby in our house, like almost to the point of pestering about it.  You'd think they were being tortured or something.
