We left on Saturday the 14th (Jana's birthday) and stayed for 5 days. Our trip just happened to coincide with (basically) the only summer rain-storm we've had so far this year. It was much needed, but luckily it only rained the first 2 days we were there. The worst of it was on Sunday and we got caught in a huge storm out in the boat. (That will teach us to go boating on Sunday! :) In our defense, we had decided we wouldn't go fishing or skiing, but would just enjoy God's beautiful creation and have a look around.)
The kids were spoiled and got to sleep in Grandma & Grandpa's trailer every night they were there. I think everyone enjoyed that though :)
Some of the exciting things that happened were:
Ashlyn caught a Salmon! John was super jealous (he's never caught a Salmon before)
I DROVE THE BOAT! I was super nervous, but I did fine. Not only did
I drive, I pulled Johnathan while he was knee-boarding! I also got to drive the boat onto
the trailer (I didn't do so well, but I know I could do better next time)
The kids and I jumped off a tiny 'cliff '
Johnathan jumped off a huge cliff
Jayden went knee-boarding! He got up on his 2nd try!
Ashlyn almost got up (she struggled with the strap)
and then decided to stick to the tube
I let my Father-in-law pull me on the tube, and I survived!
We gave Jacob a fishing pole to keep him busy and he caught
this little fish all by himself! We couldn't believe it!
We had a lot of fun camping at Flaming Gorge! The kids are very excited to go back again sometime. We sure love doing stuff with our little family. Thanks for going with us Rex & Lynn! We hope you had fun too!
